PGA RESOQUICK
The fast suture for temporary support
PGA RESOQUICK is a braided thread made of the polymer of glycolic acid.
Individual filaments of PGA RESOQUICK are extruded with diameters of 0.015 mm, stretched into bundles, and braided to prevent capillary effects. This results in a pleasantly soft and flexible braided thread. The special Resolactone coating is deposited in a thin layer around the fibre bundles.
The linear, high-molecular glycolic acid is synthesised in the presence of a catalyser. In contrast to PGA Resorba, the accelerated absorption is achieved by a modified production process. The faster breakdown to CO2 in the tissues occurs with PGA RESOQUICK by the uptake of water during metabolism.
The suture coating results in very good handling properties and minimum tissue trauma by reducing surface friction.
