COMMON ORAL SURGERY

The generic term Common Oral Surgery describes multiple procedures that support general practitioners in their daily routine, including socket preservation, an adequate treatment of periodontal infections, management of dental traumas, etc. In each case an optimal treatment is mandatory in order to reduce delayed complications above all for the patient but also for the surgeon in view of further procedures.

WHY GENTAMICIN?

Gentamicin sulphate is an aminoglycoside and has a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity.
For certain antibiotics (e.g. aminoglycosides), the highest possible serum concentration determines the extent of the bactericidal action and the duration of the postantibiotic effects.

WHY COLLAGEN?

Collagen is completely absorbable.
This means that there is no need for a second operation such as is required with non-resorbable materials. The naturally-structured collagen fibrils activate clotting like endogenous collagen.

  • 1 collagen gentamicin sponge of 2.5 x 2.5 x 0.5 cm contains 35 mg native equine collagen fibrils
  • 25 mg gentamicin sulphate, equivalent to 13.82 – 17.88 mg gentamicin

  • 1 cm² contains 2.8 mg native equine collagen fibrils

  • Highly concentrated collagen for lager bone defects
  • 1 cm2 contains 5.6 mg native equine collagen fibrils
